Our City of Delano council will continue its conversations in regards to 2 main covid-19 discussion that took place on January 7, 2021, that was abruptly halted due to technical issues with the online meeting limiting attendees access to 100 attendees. The two main topics on the January 19, 2021 agendas that the community are mainly concern about is the $47,000 proposal by Veronica Vasquez where the community scrambles to find solutions to educate the city via video education, flyer distribution, online platforms, street banners, volunteers, and other approaches to keep that money in our city.
Two main discussions continued from January 7, #1 was not discussed due to cancelling the session due to technical difficulties.
- Discussion and potential action on adoption of a temporary urgency ordinance of the City Council of the City of Delano affirming the Regional Stay at Home Order dated on Dec. 3 of the State of California Department of Public Health related to the Prohibition on gatherings with non-household members and the prohibition on state-defined non-critical infrastructure activities: Dining at restaurants The operation of hair salons, barbershops, and nail salons And expressly affirming such regional stay at home order as applicable and enforceable within the city’s jurisdiction and authorization of enforcement By administrative citation in the amount of $100, $200, and $500 for the first, second, and third violations for a period of 28 days or upon expiration of the regional stay at home order whichever occurs first.
- Discussion and approval of allocation of $47,000 funds for Delano COVID-19 Task Force and consultant agreement with Adelante Strategies for providing COVID-19 prevention and education and outreach.
