The council voted 4-1 in favor of issuing fines to prohibit gatherings with non-household members and non-critical gatherings in the city council meeting last night. The fines range from $100-1st Offense, $200-2nd, and a whopping $500-3rd for violations daily.
This urgency ordinance will last up to 28 days or if the state lockdown moves Kern back to the purple tier and may continue after if needed under Council's review.
So what are the rules? Here are a few and it basically aligns with the state lockdown with minor changes.
Indoor and outdoor dining is a no, no. Only delivery and takeout are permitted. Restaurant owners who operate against codes and customers who dine in will be cited.
Outdoor activities are limited to 10 people from different households. No more, and people will be cited.
An amendment of the ordinance passed states that big businesses must be limited at 20% to 35% capacity, based on their size.
Well, you all have a wonderful day. Thanks for following DL!
